Eating Disorder Awareness Week: Celebrating Our Natural Sizes February 2 - 8, 2014
We all sometimes experience a little voice in our heads guiding our actions. For individuals with an eating disorder, that voice can be loud, insistent and overpowering. It's profoundly negative and soul defeating. That's why we've chosen to use our message that, It's not our bodies that need changing. It's our attitudes.
This EDAW we ask you to join us in talking back: Help us to raise awareness and understanding of eating disorders. Together we can chip away at negative and misinformed voices, wherever we hear them. EDAW is another opportunity to ignite hope and healing.
If you are in the Toronto area, please join NEDIC in celebrating our natural sizes through spoken word in a night of poetry, music, and delicious food. We will hear performances on body image, food and weight preoccupation, beauty ideals, and our experiences in our own skin. (Donations gratefully accepted at the door.)
When: Thursday February 6th, 2014 at 7:00pm
Where: Waterfalls Indian Tapas Bar and Grill, 303 Augusta Avenue, Toronto.
To confirm your attendance, contact NEDIC at 416-340-4156 or send email to firstname.lastname@example.org. All are welcome!
