Poor body image in youth leads to individuals not voicing an opinion and avoiding academic, social and economic opportunities. Building resilience in youth is key to helping them achieve more positive body image and strong self-esteem.
NEDIC provides presentations for children and youth addressing body image, body-based bullying, self-esteem and media literacy.
Workshop fees depend on context, and presentations range in length from one to three hours. To learn more, please contact our Outreach and Education Coordinator, or call us at 416-340-4800 ext. 2660.
NEDIC has also teamed up with the Dove Self-Esteem project to create “Beyond Images”, a free school-based curriculum (grades 4-8) on media literacy, body image, and self-esteem. If you are an educator, check out www.beyondimages.ca for free classroom resources.
