Panelist Biographies

Dr. Jon Robison holds a doctorate in health education/exercise physiology and a master of science in human nutrition from Michigan State University where he is Adjunct Assistant Professor. Dr. Robison is also Adjunct Associate Professor in The Holistic Health Care program at Western Michigan University. He has spent his career working to shift health promotion away from its traditional, biomedical, control-oriented focus, with a particular interest in why people do what they do and don’t do what they don’t do. Dr. Leora Pinhas is the lead physician as well as the program founder of the Eating Disorders Residential Program at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. 

Julie Seale is a Registered Dietitian at the South East Toronto Family Health Team. She also has a part-time private practice, Seasoned Nutrition. Julie uses a Heath at Every Size® approach when seeing clients not only for weight concerns, but for all nutrition-related concerns, such as diabetes, heart heath, gastrointestinal complaints and nutrient deficiencies. Julie currently serves as board secretary for The Association of Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH). 
 

Moderator Biography

Dr. Lorayne Robertson is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Her research interests include studies on the influence of technology in education, critical media literacy and critical health literacy. Lorayne is a former teacher, principal, school superintendent and Education Officer for the Ministry of Education. She has worked in the areas of critical media literacy, body image and eating disorder prevention for more than 10 years.
