You will also have the chance to learn and practice the healing art of Qigong. Qigong (pronounced ch'i-gung) is a psycho-physiological Chinese based meditative practice that uses posture, movement, breathing, meditation, visualization and intention to promote the circulation of qi (energy) within the human body, and enhance a practitioner's overall health. It has also been referred to as acupuncture without the needles as both acupuncture and qigong release energy blockages.

Experiencing the Authentic You Through Creative Art Therapy
With facilitators from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute Jen Arnold CYW, B.A. in Cultural Studies, Sarah Bedley B.A. in Psychology and Art

An eight week program to be held on Tuesdays, 7:30 - 9:00, August 3 to Septmeber 21 (for 8 weeks)
This opportunity will provide you with the materials to express yourself imaginatively, authentically, and spontaneously; an experience that over time can lead to personal fulfillment, emotional reparation and recovery. The art images become significant in achieving personal insight; resolving conflicts; solving problems; and formulating new perceptions that in turn lead to positive change, growth and healing.

Art therapy can help you discover your underlying thoughts and feelings. It is hoped that you will not only gain insight but perhaps a better understanding of yourself and the way you relate to people around you. The creative process itself can be a health enhancing and a growth producing experience.

NO ART EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Art therapy is a form of therapy using art materials, such as paint, pastels, chalk and collage to give expression through shapes, colours and imagery to your thoughts and feelings that may be difficult, otherwise, to communicate.

All programs are offered free of charge. To register call (905) 886-6632 or email support-group@edoyr.com
