Personal philosophy on food/weight issues is non-dieting, weight acceptance.
Crisis services description
People in crisis can be referred to the Eating Disorders Program for emergency assessment. Once assessed the patient can receive treatment in the Program urgently if there health problems are assessed to be critical. Additionally, once a patient is part of the Program they are maintained on the list and even after discharge can come back quickly if their condition deteriorates.
Eating disorder awareness, education and/or prevention description
The Eating Disorder Prevention Specialist works with parents and communities to promote positive body image and facilitate early intervention of individuals with eating disorders. A focus of this position is to build capacity for community management of eating disorders, providing education to teachers and health professionals to accomplish this.
Treatment description
The Eating Disorders Program provides multidisciplinary treatment for in-patients, outpatients and day-patients. Patients are seen based on urgency.
