Caring for Clients with Eating Disorders: A Qualitative Examination of Primary Care Social Workers' Experiences

Researchers in the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto are seeking participants for a study to understand the experiences of current primary care social workers who have worked with clients experiencing eating disorders. 

You are eligible to participate if you:

• are a social worker practicing in primary care in Canada, and

• have assessed or treated a client with any eating disorder – including, but not limited to, binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, atypical anorexia nervosa, OSFED, ARFID, or pica – in the past year (note: your client does not need to have been formally diagnosed with an eating disorder for you to be eligible to participate)

Participation will involve:

• completing a brief screening survey 
• a 60-to-90-minute Zoom interview 
• a 5-minute demographics survey 

Participants will be compensated with a $30 universal gift card.

This study has received approval from the UofT Research Ethics Board (#49991).
