Wicked Bodies is a project dedicated to holding space and bringing a more compassionate lens to disordered eating in the 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities. Through uplifting narrative films, the aims of Wicked Bodies are to help to reduce stigma, generate hope, and invite more open conversation about disordered eating, eating disorders, and body dysmorphia within 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities.
Researchers at Mount Saint Vincent University are seeking two groups of individuals — 1) community members and 2) health care providers — to participate in an interview and share their story and experiences.
1) You are eligible to participate if you:
- identify as 2SLGBTQIA+,
- are 18 years of age or older
- have lived experience of an eating disorder or disordered eating, and
- have sought, attempted to seek, or received support from health professionals for treatment and/or recovery
2) You are eligible to participate if you:
- are a registered/licensed healthcare provider (doctor, nurse, dietitian, psychologist, social worker, etc.),
- are currently working in Canada,
- have at least one year of experience working in the disordered eating healthcare continuum (private or public practice)
Participation will involve a 60 to 90-minute interview conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams. You will receive an honorarium for participating.
