The economic and social impact of eating disorders in youth across Canada

How much did the COVID-19 pandemic cost youth, families, and the system?


Researchers across Canada led by a team at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute (CHEO RI) are inviting those with lived experience accessing or delivering eating disorder services for youth during the COVID-19 pandemic to complete a 15–25-minute survey. You will be be asked about the costs you may have experienced. 


You are eligible to participate if you reside in Canada, can communicate in English or French, and are either: 

  • a young person (16-25 years old) who currently lives with or has lived with an eating disorder and/or disordered eating
  • a primary caregiver of a child or youth (up to 25 years old) with an eating disorder and/or disordered eating
  • a clinician or health professional who works with children or youth (up to 25 years old) with eating disorders and/or disordered eating
  • a decision-maker and/or administrator working in health-related or community-based organizations in the field of eating disorders for children or youth (up to 25 years old).
