Understanding and Mitigating the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Children, Youth, and Families Living with an Eating Disorder

Do you have lived experience or expertise with eating disorders?



Researchers at McMaster University are seeking participants for a study investigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on youth and families living with eating disorders, with the goal of gaining insights that will enable the development of strategies to help these groups.



Youth, parents, clinicians, and program administrators are being invited to share their experiences with or treating eating disorders during the pandemic. Participation will involve a one-hour virtual interview with a member of the research team about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on your experience with eating disorders, as well as your thoughts on some potential supports, including peer support groups.



You are eligible to participate if:

  1. you are able to understand, speak, and write in English,
  2. have access to a computer and the internet, AND
  • are a youth <18 years with an eating disorder,
  • are the parent of a child <18 years with an eating disorder, OR
  • are a clinician or program administrator working in a pediatric or lifespan eating disorder program
