Reconciling relationships with body, food, and physical activity

Are you reconciling your relationship with your body, food, and physical activity?

Researchers at McGill University are seeking participants for a study exploring how women who have experienced an eating disorder or disordered eating as an athlete reconcile their relationship with the body, food, and physical activity.

Participation will involve three rounds of data collection, each including (1) a photo-taking activity where you will take photos that capture your experiences of embodiment, followed by (2) a one-on-one interview to discuss your photos. Participants will receive $40 CAD in compensation for their time after each round of data collection.

You may be eligible to participate in the study if you:

  1. Identify as a woman, and are 18+ years of age;
  2. Experienced an eating disorder or disordered eating as a competitive athlete;
  3. Are actively working toward reconciling your relationship with your body, food, or physical activity; and
  4. Have a photo-taking device (e.g., smartphone).

As a participant, you will get to express your experiences with and in your body during recovery. Your input will inform how to better support individuals in achieving full recovery and positive relationships with physical activity and movement.
